Hello! Welcome to my blog, I’m Karolina – an Edinburgh based newborn photographer, specialising in all white, simply posed, timeless newborn portraits. Today I want to share this gorgeous session that I’ve done for a gorgeous family. They traveled to me for their newborn photoshoot here in Edinburgh all the way from Glasgow! I have been photographing the Scott’s since their oldest daughter Anna was just a tiny newborn baby. She is now a proud big sister of not one, but two awesome brothers! Although all grown up, she is still her mummy and daddy’s little girl. Just look at these adorable pictures we took at the start of the shoot!

What happens when there are older kids included in a newborn photoshoot? Well, we play lots! We also take tons of pictures of all the different family combinations. Individual portraits of each kid is a must. But also we aim for a variety of images that show all of you as a family unit as well. Which is exactly what we did here, have a look at all these family pictures, which one is your favourite?
Then of course we had to take pictures of mummy and daddy and their new addition too. These are the portraits that we have created each time with each baby, and they are truly so special.

Simple newborn photos
After taking all of the family portraits, daddy took Anna and Cameron out for some McDonald’s, while mummy and I stayed in the studio to create some gorgeous portraits of little Lewis.
He was an amazing little model and slept pretty much all the time! We took such a good variety of portraits, they will truly be treasured forever.
We started with photographing Lewis in a beautiful basket, and had to include the family heirloom shawl as well. Both Anna and Cameron also have portraits with this exact shawl from their newborn photoshoots and it was so special to do it again with Lewis.
We then moved on to my signature, timeless and simple all white newborn photos. This part is mostly why parents choose me over other newborn photographers in Edinburgh. There are so many options for newborn photoshoots, some include all the rainbow colours, accessories and props. And others, like me, tend to photograph babies in the more natural style. My goal is for the focus to be on your baby and their unique features, rather than accessories or props.
