They’ve learnt to smile, babble, roll, crawl and have become the tiny version of who they will grow up to be.
You have been very busy soaking in all of the wonders of the baby stage and now your little one is getting ready to take their first steps into the world.
A first birthday deserves an extra special celebration that you will remember forever.

In most cases I will personally deliver your high quality products, all that’s left to do is to hang your wall art and admire your portraits every single day.
Your baby’s birthday photography session will be entirely baby-led.
We will start with individual portraits where the focus will be on capturing the personality and beautiful features of your child to create stunning, natural portraits.
A simple white setup will ensure the focus stays on your baby, and addition of simple white balloons, minimalistic Cake and letters ONE for the Cake Smashing part will ensure a special celebration feel.
For the final bit of fun we will give your little one a chance to splash around in a beautiful tub while I capture them having fun in the water.
To take the load of you, I work with a very talented Cake maker Janey Bakes who is based in Rosewell, just up the road from my home studio.
Together we have designed an beautiful selection of minimalistic, semi naked, white vanilla Cakes that are so easy for the little ones to Smash (and also so delicious!). Made to a plant based recipe, these Cakes are suitable for babies with egg or dairy allergies and those looking for a vegan Cake Smash photoshoot in Edinburgh.
Cake is complimentary with all Cake Smash sessions, but if you would prefer to bring your own Cake for any reason, that is absolutely fine!
Cake Smash photoshoots can be scheduled as close to your little one’s birthday as you would like.
Should you wish to receive the final images and printed products on time for your little one’s birthday, however, we will need to schedule your Cake Smash photoshoot around 1-2 months before your baby’s actual birthday – so don’t leave it too late!
This way there will be plenty of time to shoot, edit and deliver your photos.

We begin your Cake Smash birthday photoshoot session by taking beautiful, timeless portraits of your little one, followed by a few family portraits to mark this special occasion.
The introduction of very simple props, such as balloons, big letters spelling out ONE and of course the Cake will complete the first part…no Smashing yet though!
This is when we will encourage your little one to explore the Cake and eat it, play with it and generally get stuck in and make a mess. Some babies need a little more support than others, with parents digging in and demonstrating, but usually, there’s no stopping them! This gives me the chance to capture the most genuinely funny and adorable expressions and poses.
After all that sticky fun, we’ll give your baby a bubble bath. Most babies absolutely love this part – they’re free to splash around and get water everywhere. The general atmosphere in the room is just so happy! Afterwards, it’ll be time to wrap up in a fluffy towel, get dressed and look forward to seeing your beautiful portraits. (I can also pack up the leftover Cake for you to take home.)
