Booking during pregnancy
When Michelle first got in touch to book her baby Ryan’s newborn photography session in Edinburgh with me, she was still just growing her baby in her tummy. I admired how organised she was by booking in advance. We all know that babies can come unexpectedly whenever they feel like it, which is why it is a great idea to have a date in the diary booked for some precious newborn portraits. Plus, it always feels amazing to tick an important thing like booking a newborn photoshoot of that never ending to do list!
Miracle baby Ryan
For Michelle and Ryan getting pregnant was a real surprise and nothing short of a miracle. Having tried to get pregnant for three years they didn’t think it was going to happen to them. They were sure they will need some help of a little bit of science. After booking their IVF treatment and with only three weeks left until the start of it, Michelle fell pregnant! It was the most wonderful surprise. They felt really lucky and blessed to finally be expecting a baby boy.
Planning of the newborn photography session in Edinburgh
Upon booking we’ve scheduled a time to chat in more detail and to plan their perfect newborn photoshoot here in Edinburgh. It was amazing to learn more about this lovely family and their hopes and dreams from the session. Michelle told me how much she values photography and capturing most special memories. We spoke about their favourite newborn photos and poses, wall art options for their home and some unrelated to photography things too.
Baby Ryan is here – time for a newborn photography session!
I was overjoyed when I heard their news about baby boy arriving and couldn’t wait to welcome this beautiful new family of three to the studio. Due to unforeseen circumstances the session got delayed a little. When we finally managed to photograph baby Ryan he was 3 weeks old and he was just so perfect.
Too old for newborn photos?
Now some photographers might say that 3 weeks old baby is too old for sleepy newborn photos, but I strongly disagree! It absolutely does not matter how old your baby is when their newborn photoshoot takes place. 7 days, 2 weeks or a month old – they will be at their tiniest whenever we get a chance to photograph them. Babies are never too old for a newborn photoshoot! As always, we started with family portraits and finished up with baby Ryan on his own. We included parents hands and arms in the photographs, to really show the beautiful connection they share. And of course so Michelle and Ryan can always look back at these beautiful newborn photos and remember just how tiny their baby once was.
